Lemon Wheat

The Lemon Wheat we brewed on 19 July has been racked from primary to secondary fermentation. It will not sit in the secondary fermenters for the next two weeks before bottling. After bottle conditioning, it should be ready for sampling Labor Day Weekend.

Peach Pale Ale

The Peach Pale Ale is all in bottles now and carbonating up for the next 2-3 weeks. We did a little sampling and there's a lot of potential in those bottles. Nice sweet peach aroma, just enough peach taste. We're very excited to be able to sample these late this month.

Special Guest at 8th Street Bottling

It was a very special evening at the 8th Street Beer Company tonight. For our bottling tonight we were joined tonight by Master Bottler Joelle. Joelle comes from a long line of Master Bottlers in England and travelled all the way to Atlanta to impart her family's generations upon generations of bottling knowledge to the 8th Street Beer Company.

See below as Joelle demonstrates the proper way to hand-bottle beer. Notice the leverage she's utilizing to apply the proper downforce? Thanks for the instruction Joelle!

Bottling tonight!

Tonight we'll be bottling two to three batches at the 8th Street Beer Company. If you'd like to join us, let us know.

NO Bottling tonight

Yes, we promised you bottling this evening but some unforeseen events have popped up (read: the consumption of beer and the proselytizing of all things beer) so bottling has been temporarily postponed. The 8th Street Beer Company thanks you for your understanding and support and we hope to see each of you with an 8th Street Beer in your hand soon.

Bottling tonight

The 8th Street Beer Company will be bottling two batches (or parts of two batches) of brews - an American Brown Ale and our Peach Pale Ale. We'll also be sampling an American Pale Ale-style and a sister-beer of the American Brown Ale we're bottling tonight.

If you're interested in joining us to see how beer is bottled or to sample some of our brews, let us know.

So what can you expect from the 8th Street Beer Company? Our goal is to bring you new, sometimes non-traditional takes on traditional beer styles. We want our beer to be a uniquely enjoyable experience, while still evoking the traditional sensibilities associated with common American styles and even some of the traditional Continental styles.

So what does that mean we're working on? Quite simply, a lot. Like pale ales and brown ales and wheat beers. What's coming up? Even more. Belgians, porters, stouts, seasonals. I'll share more on our current brews and upcoming ideas in future posts.

Welcome

Welcome to the official blog of the 8th Street Beer Company. Not familiar with us yet? Don't worry, you're not alone. The 8th Street Beer Company is a soon-to-be Atlanta-based craft brewery. There's a lot of work between the conceptual and the actual and this blog is where you'll be able to follow us as we progress from backyard brewers to full-scale craft brewers. We appreciate your interest in the 8th Street Beer Company and we look forward to sharing our fine crafted brews with you soon.
